This year’s much anticipated musical film, Chevalier, charts the story of the rise of Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, a French-Caribbean violinist, composer and champion fencer, whose tenacity in the face of racism and tenuous connections with the French elite sent him down a groundbreaking path. Join Artistic Director Shiry Rashkovsky as she discovers just what went into the making of the classical blockbuster, in discussion with violinist Ronald Long, who worked behind the scenes teaching movie star Kelvin Harrison Jr. to play the violin. An intimate Q&A, with a special performance of Chevalier’s Symphonie Concertante for Two Violins, followed by a screening of the movie.

Tickets £15 (drinks sold separately; bar open throughout the event)
